Registration and Testing Information

New and returning MVSRA members must annually complete the following:
  1. New Members Register with the MVSRA.
    1. Create a new MVSRA account.
    2. Enter in your personal information.
    3. Read and agree to the online Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA).
    4. MVSRA registration is free, register with the MVSRA.
    Returning Members Update registration for the new season.
    1. Log in to your existing MVSRA account.
    2. Update your membership for a new season.
    3. Verify your contact information.
    4. Read and agree to the online Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA).
    5. Update your MVSRA registration.
  2. Register with the OSAA.
    1. If you do not have an ArbiterSports account, you can create a new account during the registration process. If you already have an ArbiterSports account, use that account's email address and password. Your information will be pre-loaded, review it for accuracy.
    2. Follow the instructions and provide all of the required information.
    3. You will need to provide your SSN for a background check and to be paid by the MVSRA.
      Officials may not have been convicted of: 1) a felony involving the use, possession or sale of a controlled substance within the last 10 years; or 2) a crime involving the use or threatened use of violence against a person within the last 10 years; or 3) a crime involving a minor child at any time.
    4. Select MVSRA (Mid-Valley) as your local officials association.
    5. OSAA registration for 2025-26 costs $83.00, register with the OSAA.
  3. New Members Complete the Referee 101 Clinic.
    1. This is an online training course designed for new MVSRA members.
    2. The course covers MVSRA policies and NFHS rules.
    3. Ideally, this course can prepare you to take the field for the first time.
    4. Take the free online Referee 101 Course.
  4. Attend regular meetings.
    1. All Members are required to attend regular meetings.
    2. View the Meeting Schedule for meeting and clinic dates.
  5. Complete the online concussion training course.
    1. As a requirement for OSAA certification and MVSRA membership, referees must annually complete the online concussion training course provided by the OSAA for officials.
    2. This training must be done annually and must be completed before being assigned to a game.
    3. Course Title: "Understanding Concussions - What Officials Need To Know"
    4. Access the course on the ArbiterSports:
      1. Click the link to access ArbiterSports.
      2. Click on the current year's OSAA Soccer under Current Eligibilities.
      3. Scroll until you find the requirement named "Understanding Concussions - What Officials Need to Know".
      4. Click the Take Online Clinic link for either the English or Spanish version of the course.
      5. Follow the on screen instructions to complete the training course.
    5. Additional information on the OSAA website.
  6. Pass the annual OSAA Soccer Rules exam.
    1. Test preparation is covered during regular meetings. Prep materials are also available on the Members Training page.
    2. All MVSRA referees must pass the test with a minimum score of 75%.
    3. Playoff qualifying referees must pass the test with a minimum score of 90%.
    4. Take the OSAA Soccer Rules Exam.
